Inspired by the beauty of Terminalia catappa (Tropical Almond) seeds found on the beach where I seek inspiration, I incorporated their organic natural shape, resembling the Mandorla, into my art. My work conveys purity, timelessness, and life force in a circle. Through this series, I draw parallels between protecting the almond shape from nature and portraying a woman, celebrating femininity, maternity, and rebirth. When displayed together, colourful and glittery, they stand defiant against the prevalent vulgarity towards women in the world. Each small canvas surface reflects the microcosm of my surrounding landscape, sharing forty short stories of seeds and exploring various paths, life forces, and energies in our life journey.
