Aleksandra works across several different mediums incorporating installations, paintings, drawings, video works and mixed mediums in her practice. Her works explore a range of ideas about women’s emotional life, anxiety and mental health, like our relationship with sacred geometry in nature, and our ways of knowing and perceiving the divine in the environment.
In her video work Artist Statement & Liberation, she describes an imaginary healing circular path of the psychological pain relived out of ignorance, loneliness, and covert discrimination. I’m using the circle to represent the original perfection, protection, the self, timelessness, and all cyclic movement. Every piece of resin has a seed inside and represents the moment when the emotional pain was born, like a frozen moment of anxiety. Red strings are my bloodlines connecting with the Universe reaching for healing power. In a metaphysical way here is a permanent connection with the ancestors asking them for protection and peace in my present and future.

Installation of Inexhaustible Resources is a personification of the circular of Life Force.
* The red / bloodline is connected with ancestry.
* The seed coat is so hard, and don’t let anybody take it easily your seed/soul is protected.
* The husk is a real and hard warrior who keeps the soul in a safe place.
I was inspired by using the husks of Terminalia catappa (Tropical Almond) seed from the beach where I come for contemplation. I found magical and fascinating beauty in that organic natural shape emulates the Mandorla. My starting ideas were purity, timelessness, and life force in a circle. In this series, I compare protecting almond shape from nature with a woman, describing the glories of femininity, maternity, and rebirth. When they are together, colourful and glittery, they are opposing the world so rife with vulgarity towards women. I transform the micro part of my surrounding landscape onto a 40. small canvas surface, telling forty short stories of seeds and talking about different paths, life forces and energies in our life journey.

Most of my artworks are deep, personal interpretations of women’s emotional life, ignorance, anxiety, betrayal, humiliation, responsibility, deformation, bleeding, sacrifice, belief, superstition, disappointment, etc.

Were mostly initial steps in the completion of almost all of my projects. I used lots of different mediums to explain almost the same theme from a different point of view. Photographs, drawings, cotton with seeds, installation and assemblage, smelly and nice soft soaps become sculptures and when they are together they are opposing the world so rife with vulgarity towards women.
I am a deeply introspective person and an objective observer of the society where I live as an artist, a woman, a mother, a wife, a friend, a daughter, a cousin…
Last year I worked with shapes of nature and seeds from the beach where I come for contemplation. Comparing the shape with an intimate woman’s part describes the glories of maternity, femininity, and the idea of rebirth.
