Aleksandra Kostic Dimitrijevic was born in Belgrade, Serbia (ex-Yugoslavia).
She has lived and worked in Australia since 2012.
Aleksandra works across several mediums, incorporating installations, paintings, drawings, video-artwork, and mixed media into her practice.
Since 1994, she has regularly exhibited her work in group and solo exhibitions.
Her works explore a range of ideas about women’s emotional lives, anxiety, and mental health, as well as our relationship with sacred geometry in nature and our ways of knowing and perceiving the divine in the environment.
Her expressionistic approach to the work describes her as an intuitive artist willing to expose her creative energy directly.
Aleksandra’s current role is with UMI Arts, an esteemed First Nations arts and cultural organization in Far North Queensland.
